Principal, The 86 Group
Bill Bromley is a Principal at The 86 Group. Bill has been an entrepreneur his entire life starting at the age of 10 when he started Bill’s Dependable Flyer Distribution. He went on to building and selling other businesses in his life spanning from Landscape, Construction, Automotive Accessories, Restaurants,Bars/Nightclubs, Manufacturing & Distribution.
After many successful ventures and learning the ropes from the ground up he transitioned to Business Brokerage, Investment Banking and Consulting utilizing his life’s experience in business to help others to Buy, Grow and Sell their businesses.
Bill became Partner with The 86 Group in early 2018 and has since assisted hundreds of clients in their business ventures. Bill has a BA in Business Administration from University of Phoenix and an MBA from Florida State University in Business Communications.
Bill’s life mission is to be as physically and mentally healthy as possible so he can perform at the highest level possible for his friends, family and clients. He is married, resides in Dallas, Texas and Apple Valley, California and enjoys traveling with his wife and entertaining those closest to him.

Cory is the Founding Principal of The 86 Group. Cory began his professional career in the restaurant industry where he began buying under-preforming restaurants, turning them around and selling them for a profit. Eventually, Cory expanded on this to developing his own concepts, building an infrastructure and growth plan and expanding the concept to several locations and later selling to private equity groups or other investors which is how he became exposed to M&A. Throughout Cory’s restaurant career, he successfully raised over $50m in private capital through PPM’s, was involved in the development and operations of 9 different multi-unit concepts. In 2008, Cory sold his Tex-Mex concept with a $13m valuation (excluding real estate) and decided to enter into the consulting business.
Cory began his consulting career by becoming trained as a Financial Analyst working for the nation’s largest business management consulting company. During this time, Cory gained an incredible amount of knowledge and experience by becoming acquainted with a multitude of different business across many industries all over the United States. It became clear to Cory, that there was a hole to fill to provide investment banking services for entrepreneurs.
Cory started The 86 Group with the simple philosophy of creating a firm to help entrepreneurs successfully buy, sell and grow their business. Today, Cory continues to assist Clients in their goals as well as provides the leadership for the growth of the firm.
Cory received a BBA in Management & Statistics from Texas Christian University and a MBA in Finance from New Charter University. Cory is an avid Triathlete and has completed 12 Ironman distances triathlons. Cory is married and currently resides in the Canyon Creek neighborhood of Richardson, Texas.
John Frederick Skelton III
Vice President, Real Estate Broker, The 86 Group
JOHN FREDERICK SKELTON III was born in Dallas Texas in 1942. He is a fifth generation Dallasite. He attended public schools before entering the University of Texas in Austin. At the University he was elected President of the Student Council of the School of Architecture. After graduation in 1965 with a Bachelor of Architecture he entered the United States Navy and was commissioned an Ensign in the Civil Engineer Corps. He was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal and was released from active duty with the rank of Lieutenant Commander in the United States Naval Reserve. Mr. Skelton did post graduate work at SMU in real estate finance and law.
Following a year of study in Europe he returned to Dallas to enter private architectural practice. In 1976 he founded McKamy Development Corporation which developed subdivisions in Dallas, Denton, Flower Mound, Royse City, Arlington and Houston. From 1976 to 2016 Mr. Skelton has developed and sold over 1800 single family lots for in excess of $45 million, with profits averaging 45%.
Beginning in 1982 Mr. Skelton concentrated on investments in insurance, real estate and oil and gas. In 1987 he re-entered the single family subdivision business, developing McKamy Creek in Flower Mound. In 2007 Mr. Skelton developed a 214 unit apartment project McKamy Lake Apartments in Lewisville. Mr. Skelton’s current activities include apartment projects in Corsicana and Denton, a self storage facility and a single family project in Cedar Hill.
Mr. Skelton is a Registered Architect in Texas. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Texas, instrument rated pilot and Coast Guard Captain. He has been a member of the American Institute of Architects and National Association of Home Builders for over 30 years.
Other organizations he has been active in include the Dallas Chapter AIA, Park Cities Rotary Club, the Boy Scouts, the Park Cities Historical Society, the Dallas Ski Club, the Dallas Country Club, the Dallas Museum of Art and the Highland Park Methodist Church. He has served in leadership positions including President of the Dallas Council of the Navy League and the Dallas Ski Club.
Mr. Skelton is married and has two children and four grandchildren. His hobbies include tennis, golf, hunting, fishing, cooking and travel.
